It's now 2200 and rising. Seems the storm was more robust than the predictions indicated. Lots of rivers spiking big today.

Anybody got any new wood beta for the Pilchuck? (Other than JP's 2/23 river alert.) We had some big wind storms up north in March with LOTS of blowdown. Kyle talked to Ryan Bayes (up in BC) last week and I guess Chili Canyon has so much wood in it right now, he's not even going to run it until we get some high flows to clean it out a bit. Kyle and I ran the Sauk last week, and while the river was amazingly clean, the road had blow down all over it. Mile after mile of blow down.

I haven't been on Pilchuck for more than a year, so my preference would be to run it below 2000cfs. I expect it'll spike up this weekend with snow melt, but keep me posted if you decide to run it on the downside of the spike

It's spiking right now and should be dropping later today and through the weekend. Just hoping it doesn't drop too fast, which it likes to do.

Ok, well keep me posted. I'm still trying to figure out what my weekend plans are, but if I'm in town I'd be game to run it.

If it's still got water in it, I'm interested in a Sat AM run.

Couple of us planning on running Pilchuck tomorrow.
If there's enough water we'll run the upper and middle. If its much below 1000 we'll just run the middle section. If it drops a lot more (below 600) we'll cancel. I'll check the gauge in the AM. I'll update here at 8AM if the plan changes.
Meet at the takeout bridge at 10AM.

Cool... keep your fingers crossed for good flows.
I'm excited to run the Pil on a sunny 60+ degree day.
Has that happened before? Ever??

Just checked flow. Plan is still for 10AM at takeout. Looks like there will be enough water for the middle run, but probably not upper. Will check flow visually at takeout.

The Pilly's got water today! Looks like lowish, but in, at least for the middle section.
Anyone game to rally out for a run this evening?

There is a huge cell about to move over the lake cavanaugh area...might be worth it after all. A bump a the put in would be nice. I'll know shortly if I'm interested.
