Topic: Getting out Saturday 11/3 Posted: 01 Nov 2012 at 8:22pm |
Anyone interested in getting out on Saturday for a mellow-ish play run? I'm not really sold on any one run, just watching levels. Might be nice to head over to the E side of the hills and hit the Wenatchee if the level maintains around 5-6K. If not, might just hit up something close (MM, Green, etc), but definitely going to be sticking to the playboat.
I'm up to leave really early too as I have to be back in Seattle by 6:00pm....
On another note - anyone know where I can pick up a L tunnel/XL cockpit skirt?

I have to be back in Seattle by 430pm
How about the lower green? Shall we say meet at the take out at 11am ?
It would be my girl friend and I. I have run it multiple times...

Looks like the Wenatchee is going to stay at a pretty fun level. Planning on being at the takeout in Cashmere from 9:30-10:00am. Anyone?

So it looks like with various water levels dropping and not having a shuttle on the Wenatchee, we're going to hit the MM tomorrow. Probably try to be out there when everyone else is... 11:00 at the git out.

Hey Fred... good boating with you.
Glad you found yourself a "mellow-ish play run".
Care to give a trip report and maybe share any video we may find interesting?
:-)

Unfortunately, the video didn't yield anything interesting. After dropping into the hole, the camera got knocked so you really can't see much except sky/water/sky/water, etc. According to the timer, I spent a good minute of my life getting slapped around.
The most I can say about the trip was that it was a good humbling experience! Not giving the right amount of care and respect to a run does not produce good results. Even though I have paddled that stretch countless times, it doesn't matter... especially considering that those countless times were 5-10 years ago.
I can say this - you REALLY don't want to miss your boof at the top of house rock rapid.. that hole is NOT friendly.
