Let us know what 2600 cfs on the inflow feels like, I'm thinking of taking my raft down and was thinking that 2000 cfs + would be what it would take. Norms should be pretty stompin' at this level.
Have fun.

Fenix for sure let us know. In general hear are my thoughts. In the early season most of the water is coming from the Cle Elum (China Gorge) on the inflow figures. That is because that drainage is further east and gets warmer much quicker. The cooper puts out more water in the late season than it does in the early season. So it can be normal flows at this time of year, then Booming in June and back to normal in July as all the snow is melting off. Take a photo of the Wall of Voodoo where the notch sticks out that will give a good indicator of the rivers level. Another reason not many people go up there at this time of year is snow. http://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/okawen/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5376262Snowed in 3 miles from the bridge which would mean you might or might not make it to the put in without some effort.

Hopefully someone can chime in with first hand knowledge, but the WSDOT pass cam closest to it shows a whole lot of bare ground.

As of Last Sunday, the FITW road was pretty damn bare. Fenix and I are going to check it out today...
Should have an update this evening.
Cheers, J

There is snow on the banks of FITW but the road is bare as of a report from Tuesday that I got. I don't know about the cooper and I don't want to persuade Fenix from going up there since a report would be nice but my guess is like Ellingferd says probably snowed in about 2/3rds of the way up the road. With the right rig, some aired down tires and warm booties you could still make it happen though...

Yo Fenix- thanks for the Cooper Access Report. With no mid level snow left anywhere else I am not surprised the road into the Cooper is clear of snow. I'm tellin ya, Ellingferd: sh*ts already melting quick. I'd be OH SO happy to be wrong about this, but talking to hikers coming out of The Enchantments, ect. Seems to indicate a very different pattern than the last few years.
T-Pot: yall call on me next time you rally the Cooper, ok?

Sweet. Maybe me n the gf gonna rally some Seattle errand soon and the Shiva can come along. But the Shiva has made it clear in no uncertain terms that it wants the "Cup That Over Runneth".
I'm cool w/ that too, except *GULP* Fisherman's. I told my boat about my highwater swim there. She just started dissing the Salto, saying how it couldn't put down a line on a sheet of paper. That's a bit drastic, but I bet the Shiva would do much better in the approach, and especially the boof there. Seems like such a harmless drop, but add enough water and get stuck there, and damn if ain't pretty difficult to get out.
Ok. Is it time to reboot a FITWah thread yet?

Official word on the Cooper: Still too high. The flake in the Wall of Voodoo is totally covered, looks runnable but is high. The tree across the top of the entry slide is still there and the right sneak/duck is extra tight. With only two of us today, we decided to wait till it comes down a bit. I was up there on tuesday and it has come down significantly since then so maybe soon she will be good to go.
