Is there a USGS gauge for the Upper Green? Is this not it? Must not be as PP says it's running 1500 and gauge says 1910...

the url you have listed is for green @ auburn - way down stream

you want to use either:

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/wa/nwis/uv/?site_no=12105900&PARAmeter_cd=00060,00065

or

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/wa/nwis/uv/?site_no=12106700&PARAmeter_cd=00060,00065

the first is Howard Hansen outflow....however the second is a bit more accurate of what you will actually have. a portion of water is diverted for city water supply and is not in the river....

That Auburn gauge is way downstream.

I think most people use the Palmer gauge http://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/uv?12106700

I prefer the ACE gauge though http://www.nwd-wc.usace.army.mil/dd/common/projects/www/hah.html because it tells me what's going on with inflow and reservoir height, which has a lot to do with what they will be releasing.

In any case, Green looks prime for the weekend. See you out there!

I liked the graphs they used a few years ago, similar to this one but it was more current (this one is two days behind), and had a graph for temperature/precipitation.

You're right, though, this helps get a glimpse on if they're draining or filling, which helps judge what they may do considering weather forecasts.

But for up to date and most accurate for the Gorge: Palmer Guage, and some local knowledge when nessecary.

I can't believe I sacrificed the entire weekend last week for "work." And then get such a shaft this weekend. I won't make that mistake again.
