Hi all,

Gonna be out the weekend of the 7th-9th (Fri-Sun), and would love any help!

1) What's the latest on accessing Ernie's?

2) How the hell do you figure out what the Little White is running?

Thanks!

1.) You need to buy a day use pass to "legally" access the get-in for Ernie's. Purchase through Hancock.

2.) Drive to HR and wait. I would be willing to bet it's in; it's been pouring rain. There is a FB page for the Hood River area, that could be a resource as well.

3.) Why no Robe Canyon? I'm assuming you're from out of the area. If this is the case, and the rains hold, you'll be hard pressed to pass up the Robe + Ernie's or Icicle + Tumwater combo. If you had a full weekend and no concerns for gas money you could even run the circuit: Robe, possibly Top Tye, then over to Tumwater, over 97 to 90, then hit up Fall in the Wall and down  to Ernie's.

4.)That's so sick, I just wet myself.
If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there.

A good gauge for the LW is the Facebook page of Rush Sturges. He posts a lot of media or comments on it most days when they go, which is most days it is running. Last I heard it was still too low but it's been raining a lot! Have fun.

Ps. Robe / Ernie's combo with Tye/ Sky/ Tum/ Icicle beats driving 4 hours to run the LW any day IMO.

Play safe!!

Thanks Daniel.

Robe may be my favorite out there. First day of paddling in WA we did that and Ernie's - it was killer.

I've never done the Little White, so at some point that's gotta happen.

Not sure what I'm doing yet, but like to have logistics for all likely options dialed before hitting the ground.

Thanks!

Ahhh, did you come out with Jason last year?

LDuB is sick, don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's worth the drive if you're starting here.

I know that I'm probably in the minority in my opinion but I think that Leavenworth with water beats Hood River any day. If you like waterfalls though, you might prefer HR.

Good luck man.

No, we met at the Ashlu Box last September. I come from a land with few good waterfalls, so waterfalls are interesting. That and Little White is the most classic creek I've never done. Always putting it off to do something else, but I'll be in Kelowna BC and it's only a 50 mile longer drive to hit Hood River from the dry side as opposed to coming to the wet side.

Who knows though, looks like there's a lot of rain coming out there. It will all depend.

Thanks!

LW was not even up to the gauge after this last storm (2 days ago).

Jeff,

Do you think with the rain that's coming in this week that there's any chance the Little White will come up? I'm definitely not familiar with aquifer voodoo, so I'm blind on predictive ability. I'm not a gnar-head, so anything over 2.7 seems worth doing. I'm driving from the NW to TN so everything is on the way home.

Thanks!
