I'm looking for a fun boat to spice up my class three and some four river running and do some ocean surfing . I already have my creek boat situation dialed so this would not be my only craft. In 6'3" and have size 13 feet. I'm going to paddle the 8.5 and the 9.0 likely before I buy. I want the boat to run river, be comfortable, surf, and be able to squirt to do all those old man Eddy pivot moves and such. I've heard the 9.0 is big and am wondering if I'm too light to squirt the thing. Anybody with insight on the design please chime in.

K,

I've got an 8.5 you can try. And buy if you're interested.

I would paddle both. The 9.0 is actually a pretty big boat and would be difficult to keep a stable squirt. You could squirt it, but it wouldn't be as graceful unless you are pushing 220#. I paddled the Green in north carolina with a dude who was in an 8.5, and it was real high. He had no issues, so I think you can also get rid of all your other boats as well.

In all seriousness, I think its a pretty sick boat for having fun and refining technique.

I'm trying to recapture the feeling of my old redline. The 8.5 appears to be almost identical proportions. That's the one I believe I'm after.

I have the 9.0. It is a beast. Very comfortable, and paddles wonderfully. I am 230 and it is not easy to squirt. I would go with the 8.5 if I wanted to do squirt moves.

If you are ever up near Bellingham you can try it out.

Thank you Kyle. That's exactly the info I need. The 8.5 it is.
