If the Green holds (or ideally bumps a bit) there's some surprisingly good surfing on the lower gorge in the 450-700cfs range. As for channelizing well, not much adjacent to I-5 comes to mind. If you're willing to venture away from I-5, the Wynoochee gorge and Humptulips Narrows channelize well as they flow through some beautiful, narrow gorges. With the dam release, I'm guessing the Wynoochee might be a better bet. If you're looking for a real adventure, Box Canyon of the Muddy Fork should be at a nice level.
yeah I wish I could get back up to the hump or the wynoochee looks fun just a bit of a far jaunt for my weekend. I think im gonna try out the kalama and hope for the best at low flow. Wish we'd get a freak rain so I could head to the east fork lewis!
anyone interested in the toutle or kalama saturday or sunday? not sure what 1200 on the toutle translates to on the Kalama but thats the forecast. So its one or the other for me since I dont have much else close by.
