Washington's own Jaime Beutler reintroduced a resolution before Congress to define hydro power as clean energy. Obviously this is bad. Everybody send your letters up the hill.
let's go get it

Not sure if this is the exact resolution you are referring to, but this is an important one to stand against. Basically the hydro companies want to strip away what meager controls are already in place to keep them from damming any stream they want. This is going to senate committe THIS WEEK. Letters (or emails/calls) needed now! It is super easy to email your senators, so please do.

Thanks for the links slackinhard, I'm putting them here again so it's all together.

Cantwell:  http://www.cantwell.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/email-maria

Murray:  http://www.murray.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contactme

In case anyone wants to copy and paste here's wording you could use below. Not saying it's great, but it's fast.  Also I think this goes under the 'Energy' section when you fill out the Contact forms.

------------------

I am writing to ask that you take a stand against the Energy Power Modernization Act of 2015. The Act would severely compromise the ability of local communities, federal agencies and tribes to protect and revive rivers impacted by hydropower. In my opinion hydropower is not 'green' energy, and if passed, this Act will strip American citizens of their right to adequately balance the interests of energy companies versus the interests of public recreation, fish and wildlife. Passage of the Act would result in irreversible loss to the American public in terms of destruction of wilderness and removal of unique outdoor recreational opportunities that are a fundamental right of U.S. taxpayers.

Sincerely,
