Due to the weather forecast, Snoho PUD has picked this Sunday for a whitewater release on the Sultan.

From the flow study:

lowest boatable flow: 300cfs
lowest acceptable technical trip: 450cfs
lowest optimal technical trip: 600cfs
transition between technical and standard trip: 750cfs
lowest optimal standard trip: 900cfs
transition between standard and big water boating: 1000cfs
lowest optimal bigwater boating: 1200cfs
highest safe flow: 2000cfs

Single flow preference: 1000cfs (range of 700 to 1000cfs)--i.e. if you could choose one flow, what would it be?

A lot of choices out there but hopefully someone takes advantage of this. It's a little bit of an experiment. The idea was to provide an experience when flows are up and provide certainty that whitewater boating would be available (and avoid the situation where it looks like there will be a boating opportunity but then it drops out at 8am just as you are about to head out).

Whoa
This is awesome. Does it work better to set shuttle before getting to the dam? Looks like it would save a bunch of time. Anyone want to meet me in sultan before the release to set shuttle?

Sorry I missed this yesterday! My brother and I headed up there and were the only ones up there! Great levels, both of our first times on this river, and it was one of the best runs I've ever done. Amazing... Fingers crossed there will be another release in the future!
