Any suggestions of a way to pad your shoulder easily to protect it during long or frequent carries?
Or tricks on how to carry your boat to offload the weight?
My shoulder is seriously black and blue from carrying it a lot during a class and a portage that required some extra carrying over the weekend.
I love my Mamba 8.1, but the weight is killing me and my shoulders.

I used to have a Pyranha Burn with a sharp edge that always cut into my shoulder. I found that placing a short piece of pool noodle with a slit cut in it around the sharp edge helped a lot.
You can always pad up with a pool noodle. When i was boating the sierras with long hikes up and in, i ended up getting some straps that turned the boat into a backpack. it was awesome for the long hikes. I think Pyranha makes one, and you can also make your own with cam straps and pool noodles.
