Not sure how long its been this way, but the fish ladder on the narrows is a pretty gnar log jam now, class V portage now for sure.

Possibly a completely different log jam incarnation but 2 thanksgivings ago it was a similar experience. We seal launched off a log from about 8 feet above the water and 15 or 20 feet downstream of the falls (we walked out the log jam to get there). There were old growth logs criss crossed 20 feet above our head too! Sound similar?

I think so but with more wood in the mix now, I think its just stacking more and more. its visibly disconcerting from upstream.

Is there a trail on river left that you can portage instead of portaging over the logs in the fish ladder? The description on AWW makes it sound like there's an actual portage trail. Anybody know?

theres a trail there, i didnt investigate very far down stream just went back to the fish ladder, but looked like it would drop back in a little ways downstream, past the bend in the river below the fish ladder with the other ugly wood.
