Topic: Tree in Trestle Drop (Headworks) Posted: 29 Sep 2007 at 6:56am |
Good morning folks,
I spoke to a friend who ran the Headworks section of the Green last night. There is a tree pinned in Trestle drop. It sounds like the main part of the tree is out of play but he felt confident that you would get slapped in the face or paddle if you took the main line through the drop. After looking at it, he chose the far right line next to the shore. It sounds like the tree will leave once the river comes up but give it a look before you jump into that blind drop.

Butch,
Ran Headworks yesterday. The tree is there and if you are dead-on line
you won't hit branches. Blindly running it would be a most unwelcome surprise. Easy boat scout from the center rock. It will
definitely be gone with a little more water. Thanks for the heads-up.

I would have gone too since I bailed on surfing today when conditions changed. D4, MM tomorrow? If you're in, I'll put up a trip.

Definitely a tree in the drop. Looks like the normal "center" line is no good, as is the right side. Hard left looks boney. Could run the actual ledge right of the normal line, or the far right flow to the the right of the island, also boney. Regardless, this is a must scout situation. Running the drop blindly will be deleterious to your health.
P.S. post the trip Jason, Josh, and I would have joined.

The tree has flushed out, and the drop is now clean.

How big was the tree?
