Putting a kayak and a girlfriend (or boyfriend) in the same shuttle vehicle weekend after weekend can eventually look a lot like a Terrell Owens and Tony Romo (or Donovan McNabb) relationship: So wonderful when things are going well, but so prone to a conflict.
At some point, many of us have had to answer the question: Who do you love me: me or the kayak? Or the scarier version: “One of us has to go: Me or the kayak? You gotta pick!”
For the March/April edition of Paddler magazine, I’d like to run a collection of short stories about this topic. The stories should be no more than 150 words long. Funny, sad, reflective stories are all welcome. So too is advice.
