you might wanna be a little more specific about what kind of boating your looking to get into, and what your range is... you know, the basics?

You have never posted before, and have no info on your profile...    who are you???

Welcome to Professorpaddle Rhett. I hope that you are able to get as much out of the site as is possible. There are lots of good features on the site, and it's worth your time to spend some time perusing around and familiarizing yourself with the different features.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Yes there will be stuff going in Hood River this weekend. Everything from class 1 to class 6.

Fish is a really nice guy (even though he just sounded like an ass). I'm guessing he is either drunk of one of his room-mates posted using his profile to be funny.

Like Jed said, welcome to PP. Look for JP in Hood river, he'll point you in the right direction.

Four years and you post something now? You must be desperate. I might have to pull some strings after all.

Well first off I apologize for the ignorance on the website. Haven't really used it before. I was just wondering if anybody was planning to go kayaking in the Hood Area. Not really in shape for anything to nasty. Thinking maybe the West Fork of the Hood, or the White Salmon/Farmlands? Wind Maybe? BZ stretch? Water levels will tell all. Names Rhett. Kind of fishing I guess.

Soon, I will be spending more time in Oregon and will be boating down there more. You sound like the same class of boater I am. Just like to have fun, not looking for class V madness....

I think I met you last year at the ohane. I had the white van. I used to live in Olympia, but had to move to the Tri-Citys for work. Looking forward to moving back to the Westside. Cheers, dont sweat it.

What is a Rhett?

Rhett is...

A rare and elusive kayaking train conductor

Not the best at building Bumpers for Vans

Capable of hiking in or out 8 miles with a kayak

So shy he can only post once every 5 years

A fine selector of imported beers (imported from other cities)

At least two halves of a split double-class better of a boater than dave

So friendly that even a squirrel would lay on him.

He is not a meerkat but I like this picture.

Hi Rhett! Welcome to... er... Professor Paddle. Although it would appear you're not really new to it   *haha*.

Since you said you were fishing for info... If you're looking for Hood River hook-ups, talk to Jed Hawks or jP-- they're awesome boaters/people who live down there, and have great river beta. Not to say that great folks from the Seattle area/ WA don't go down there who know their stuff, the rivers, etc., but Jed and jP are solid connections to have, are great people to answer questions, and are usually up for running something. (Sorry to put Jed & jP on the spotlight here, but it is my honest opinion that they're great sources to go to; NOT to leave out or discredit anyone else, of course!!) I'd also look at PDX Kayaker (yahoo group) for more local info for Portland/Hood River and what people are running.

Good Luck & Happy Paddling!

For the record I only live there during the summer, but thanks for the ego backrub Gwendolyn . I live in Oly during the school year, nice and centrally located in Western WA.

A highly motivated boater in the WS area is Hans aka 1150lbsofaire.
