It looks like you took a backpack hipbelt and harness to make this. Cool! Was this set up better than something like the Kayak Sherpa from NRS? http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=2932&deptid=1767

I have never tried the sherpa. I have used Yakpak and pool noodles though, and this was better than both of them!

I know this photo is several years old at this point, but what was the setup? Looks like the hipbelt was a 'Ridgeline' (which is still available at REI for only like $4), but what about the shoulder straps?

Double straps and the shoulder straps were out of the parts box at REI another $5.00 item. I believe they are ridgeline series too.
