| Naw, I only paddled through there around 1982 or somethin. I wasn't there in 1986. Besides, in those days, Green was my color. And I never had a Protec. In the 80's I used an "Ace"- translucent green some of you have seen it-I still have it), but otherwise the same mold as the red helmet in the foreground. The clear helmets were brittle plastic and the opaque ones were more supple. Not sure if one was safer or offered more protection, or if there was debate about it at the time. Plus, I always had a wood paddle until the carbon fiber Werner I currently have. |
