I learned to boat in the southeastern US in the 1970's and 80's, and worked in the whitewater industry in many different capacities up until 2007. I'm still an active boater, and not the oldest one in my circles by any means. In the last decade I've gotten into self-support kayaking. Far as I can tell Portland is whitewater heaven and I have not died yet. I'm also a licensed naturopathic physician in the state of Oregon, with a flexible private practice. I help folks with all kinds of health concerns using diet, lifestyle, herbs and yoga. I call my practice "tertiary care" in that most of my patients also have a conventional doctor and sometimes specialists on their team. I offer perspective on how to combine alternative and conventional treatments for the best results.
