The Dagger Kingpin is one of the top selling boat designs ever. I have personally owned 3 of these boats, and attribute all of my paddling advancement to this boat. In short, its one of the best designs around for learning to playboat. It can do all the moves, is easy to initiate, and is great for general river running too.
Pros: •Easy to learn playboat •Can do all the tricks, even though its years old •Comfortable for me (6'3", Size 13 feet) •Comes in sweet colors •Backband system is quality
Cons: •"Kingpin" does not inspire confidence on runs with pin potential •Dagger=leaks like crazy •Dagger=shitty plastic that oilcans •Dagger=cheap outfitting that falls apart •Is slow on a wave face
Basically, I think the hull and boat design totally rock, and that Dagger's construction, plastic, and outfitting sucks. Still a great boat for learning everything.
