  Putin Details

There is a couple of options here, but most people are putting in at the secret camp due to 2 huge log jams. One just below the Ohanepecosh campground and one at CLS. To get to secret camp from La Wis Wis, make a left off of 123 on a small dirt road just before you reach the park gates. Follow this road till it ends near the river then walk the short trail to the water. Either seal launch down the slanted bedrock or get in your boat behind the large rock up stream.

  Takeout Details

the take out is just below the confluence with the Clear Fork of the Cowlitz. Park in the day use area of La Wis Wis Campground.

Ohane from secret camp down CLEAN!! except: Log against wall on the first of the two "twins" as I call them, drops that bend right with a large wall in front and a couple ledge holes. Visible from the pool above - Posted by: Travisimo on 11/9/2015 5:27:00 PM -  [Remove Alert]

FYI - Ohane peaked at 28K after the latest alert was posted. Hopefully it cleaned it up more, but you never know what else got drug down. Proceed with caution after high water! - Posted by: oukr9965 on 11/19/2015 7:36:00 AM -  [Remove Alert]

Recent flood and winds brought new wood. After log drop there is some criss crossed logs, passable for us (1100 cfs or so). The first larger rapid where you start left and move to the center and boot the holes has two huge pieces blocking the outflow. We portaged on the logs. Elbow room had wood in the slot. - Posted by: oukr9965 on 12/28/2015 1:06:00 PM -  [Remove Alert]

Sorry, when we portaged on the logs, go to the shallow stuff on river right and drag your boats down to do so. Almost forgot, the rapid where you bob your way down and work hard to the left where it pinches had wood all up in it too...it''s the one after butcher block and the tight right rapid. All these are scoutable, so hop out of your boats before committing if you can''t see the bottom. - Posted by: oukr9965 on 12/28/2015 1:10:00 PM -  [Remove Alert]

Just remembered something else, some rocks shifted in Petrified that affects the river right sneak. At the end some rocks opened up causing a sieve. If you sneak, stay to the right and mind the current going into the sieve on the left right before you run the last little slide. You can see this (water coming from between the rocks) when scouting/setting safety for the main line. Also want to re-emphasize the two river ride old growths in the first class IV rapid after log drop. Portage on the right. - Posted by: oukr9965 on 1/18/2016 10:19:00 AM -  [Remove Alert]

As called out by ''oukr'' Chunky Monkey, the drop a couple corner below Railslide (log drop) is a cluster. Going to need an "angry beaver" in there to resolve. The wood in the drop just around the corner from Railslide was fine today at 2,300 (med-high). - Posted by: JD_G on 1/24/2016 8:35:00 PM -  [Remove Alert]

Heard yesterday from a group who paddled Sunday that the old growths in "Chunky Monkey" have moved and the rapid is runnable at their flows...would still scout. Also heard that the wood across the pinch rapid was gone, but again that could be due to the higher water covering it up. Just thought I''d share; would still scout! Be safe and well. - Posted by: oukr9965 on 2/2/2016 7:55:00 AM -  [Remove Alert]

@ ~1200 cfs - Bad Sieve far river right in a "nothing" class III second-ish rapid after the log drop and maybe 2 rapids above Butcher''s Block. It''s a shallow rapid left line you paddle/bang over a submerged rock, right line has a little boof into some eddies and slack water and some old growth wood against the bank. Stay off the right bank and stay alert (good advice anytime on river). I was just cruising around over there and got sucked in stern first and had to be pulled out. After I was out it almost buried an entire LL Flying Squirrel 95 - Posted by: ckoontz on 6/20/2016 8:04:00 AM -  [Remove Alert]
