  Access

You can really pick and choose from several access points up and down along HWY 2. Just be respectful of private property, and be sure you've located Eagale Falls, Canyon Falls, and Sunset Falls on the map relative to where you want to have a nice mild, class II paddle. Those three rapids are downstream of Baring, so you should be plenty safe up here.

  Putin Details

A convienient put in can be found on the upstream R. Left side of the bridge just below the Beckler confluence. This bridge is immediately east of Beckler River Rd, and east of the town of Skykomish.

Alternatively you could put in beneath the bridge on R. Left in the town of Skykomish itself, but then you would miss a cool bouldery rapid or two.

  Takeout Details

Money Creek C.G. Take out on R. Left just upstream of the bridge.
From Skykomish travel west on HWY 2 to the west side of the tunnel, turning LEFT immediately onto NE Old Cascade HWY. There is a small area to park in a spot of shade, rather than cross the bridge toward Money Creek C.G.

  Fun Facts

Beautiful class II run that channelizes surprisingly well when flows are around 500 cfs +/-.

   Run Description [Season: ]

At lower flows (500-1000) you'll find a few medium-small boulders and rocks at thd put in, as well as in the first few little rapids. As you progress downstream you will mainly encounter shallow gravel bars that dump into deeper, luminous green pools. Especially on late summer days. A few gravel bars may be scrapey, but not too bad.

Higher flows will be more washed out and featureless, but swifter and more continuous.
There is a very deep pool just upstream of Money Creek where the river snakes through...

The final rapid immediately before the take out forms a steep wavetrain at low water that takes on some class III- dimensions due to the steepness, the speed of the current, and
the scaled up size of these offset waves. Could present a challenge to a beginner. The take out is immediately downstream on river left, upstream of the bridge.
