I try to boat with river folks whose skill levels are better than mine and learn what I can from them. I allso bring extra calories, nuts, chocolate and meat sticks or jerky. Plenty of water way more than I think I need. Extra warm clothes for a extra layer and a pint of Kayaker fluid (Drambuie liquor). and fire starter and lighter and space blanket just in case I get stuck out overnight so I don't push through darkness or bad situations just because I don't have any other options.

From a few pages of writing summed up to this.

Yeah, there is definitely some humbling moments to be had. We had to paddle out of CC in the dark after diving into save someone. One of the most violent beatdowns I've ever witnessed with my third throw bag on reserve. We were both being pulled in till gaining conscienceness enough to help kick us to safety with a lucky hold. Thank you nature for creating that lucky hold otherwise neither of us would be here.

Meanwhile, down here in the valley it seems like the Crusty Demons construction Vibe is going more towards health, meditation with good exercise, while making progress on our current projects.

My aspiriations to IK Robe have waned considerably since then haha. Do appreciate the offer for the Puma. Probably a no thanks for me but appreciate all the same. We did have an IK crew run it way back when. I was not on it, I was with the 2nd crew who went over and ran CC instead, which has a creeky staple for my IK crew back then. Part of the reason we did the alternate run was it was a bit of a late start and yes the Robe crew had an indicent that involved one of them getting banged up and they ended up taking out well after dark, yikes. Also I don't recall the flow exactly but if we were running CC it was likely around 5', so not an ELF run.

Especially with a multi day!
Haven't really planned to have the motivation to take a Ducky let alone raft on Robe Canyon. If you and crew want to bust out my Puma on Robe Canyon at a lower flow... I'd be cool to safety boat with you. The only problem there is the floor valve has a slight leak. If I keep torquing with my experience then it'd rip the floor out so I'm going to need an expert.
Either way it would be rad seeing you guys make your way on the river regardless of what craft you use.

Talking about brushing off cobwebs... Back to this current remodel while wanting to work on whitewater gear to replace gaskets, back bands, ratchets, tighten some bolts, replace a floor valve, to figuring out a more comfortable way to stay in the boat

Problems to Solutions -

Sorry guys, but if something that almost ends me do to a gear malfunction... (Metlako) then I'm going to get heated. So here we go

If I was gifted the tools to hybrid a newish river running boat it would have Dagger outfitting, Zet plastic with Zets Toros chine to a more pronounced bow like Wakas. At least something along those lines. Mainly the chine with stronger plastic
Meaning the chine shouldn't go almost the full length of a river running boat. The chine going most the length of the boat doesn't allow us to spin out of holes unless getting throttled.

I also use natural features like I'm at a skatepark so what is it about Zet plastic in comparison to the other brands I'm familiar with?

My current functional kayak quiver is Dagger Longboat, Jackson Playboat, Zet Toro, Dagger Axiom, along with a few others I'm to tall to keep. So, I have some gear I want to purge here soon

Imaging hybriding the best boats for the best outcome during moderate flows

My mental state since he moved on from something cool has been Monster Mode while calling my boat Savage. This year and a half has felt like a weight has been slowly lifting off my shoulders to something a bit more moderate.

https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/246726382
