Adrian and I ran into these kids on the Truss this past weekend. The guy in the blue agent is 17! I don't know why they didn't show either of them running BZ without even looking at it.

WCKA sounds too awesome. I'll have to see about getting my kids in someday.

I paddled with Devin Morton a few years back on the Truss. He was 12 or 13 at the time, I think the youngest to date.

yeah- always gotta give props to the local "kids" who tear it up. I was on the LW with them the first time they ran it-- in Febuary, without drysuits. yeah they both fired off Spirit without hesitation. Probably ceased being "kids" at that point, if not sooner. They rip. But with the Truss as your after school run, so would you at such an early age.

so it's cool to see you got out there, Dan. What did it end up reading on the stick gauge?

Is this footage from that weekend?
'cuz it's got that delicious chocolatey look, and doesn't look like no 1.8' like the reports I've been getting (BTW thanks to anyone reading this who took the time to look at the gauge over the last few days to tell me what it's been running)

Rumor has it it may have bumped up to 2.5' or so. Y'inz must've been getting some rain out there.

Not really the case here in West Virginia. But hey- sunny and 80 degrees for most of the weekends I've been here? I'll take it. The dam gives us our factory flow here on the Gauley ( a mighty 2800 cfs). But with only one more weekend left, I gotta say I'm already a bit homesick for the PNW. Lookin forward to all of these soggy grey weekends jam packed full of quality whitewater yet to come!

Nice to see you back on here JP!  When I had to scroll down to finish reading a post today I didn't even need to check to see who wrote it.   Good stuff as usual.  When are you heading back WA way?

Ya, this footage was from Sunday the 10th.

The rain brought it up pretty nicely. The gauge in Husom was rumored to say 2ft... But it felt like 2.5 in there. Who knows, it was fun.

Adrian ran everything but Big Brother without scouting. Champion status.
