I'm a FITW newbie so sorry for not being in the know, but does it come up with rain very often in the fall? I know the gauge is way downstream but is it worth watching?

I'd be curious about this too from any seasoned vets.

We drove up there yesterday morning to take a look even though the gauge was reading 95cfs since it had been raining hard overnight at the pass - though not raining when we got there.  But it was really low - i.e. the entire gauge rock was almost out of the water.

Although it does seem like it needs a lot of rain to compensate for the lack of snowmelt - if it broke 200cfs and was still climbing, I'd be tempted to sneak a peak with a MM back-up plan.

It'll take a few rains to saturate everything, once everything is soggy it'll probably come in again.

It runs in the fall, but it is a flash run, meaning if it dumps down rain you gotta run up and get it ASAP, in a matter of hours it can be gone. If you like it low you can wait a bit longer.

Yeah - we've hit FITW  it in the fall before, but it's fairly flashy. Thankfully - there's a handy backup nearby.

How about the Cooper? Anyone ever hit that one in the Fall or does all of the inflow get absorbed by Cooper Lake?

Looking low today, but scrapable.

There is a lot of rain in the forecast for Snoqualmie Pass starting Thursday-Friday.
Might be a contender.
