I somehow scored a Stilletto here in D.C. last year and finally have time to paddle and outfit the boat properly. I want to install some D-rings for tying gear down. What glue works best (Vynabond)? And, does it matter what material the backing for the rings is made out of? The boat is missing the footpegs but still has the points where the original outfitting installed. Is the only option ordering a whole new footpeg setup? Thanks for any help.

Very cool to see a Stiletto has made it's way east to the land of the thrill seeker. Not sure which glue to use, but for your footpegs you should be able to order new rails and just screw them in to the existing screw holes, if they're still there. I think either the metal or plastic kind will fit. Another option is to forego the footpegs and instead make up a footbrace from minicell or ethafoam. Basically you just cut a  wedge shaped piece of foam that conforms to the inside of the bow and strap it down.
