Wednesday should be huge! I'm sure there won't be masses of people, but I am hoping the Nassell wave comes in....only time will tell. I have already cleared the day from work, so as long as my back holds up and the wave is in that's where I'll be!
Enjoy the FLOOD!

I plan on boating in the Sky drainage (surprise surprise- seems like I never leave to boat anywhere else anymore).
The last few spikes I only boated the main sky. This time I wouldn't mind something in the upper drainage. Foss, Miller, ect. My tentative plan right now will be to be ready to go, out on hwy 2 where I got cell service by about 10:00am. So anyone interested in heading up that way should be able to contact me by then. I wouldn't mind meeting up with boaters around 11am or so. Either at Split Rock, or up in Skykomish at the deli. Maybe if someone is interested, it would be a good idea to queue it up before wednesday. Hit me up via PM, or text my phone. Service is spotty in Index, text is delayed, but eventually filters through.
imageAK, I don't think this particular go round is a good time to hook up and boat together, but in general, if you ever make it up here to the All Mighty Sky Church, you should hit me up. I'd be happy to boat with ya. The Sky is pretty awesome and you need to check it out sometime if you haven't. If you have, you need to keep coming back. Its like, "One Hundred Rivers In One" and contains all of the building blocks required to become qualified to run anything you desire.

Hey Bigwater, Can you give some more beta on the Nassell wave (how to get there, decent eddy service?, etc. The hubby and I have Thursday open, and would be rad to playboat Moshpit or Nassell. We live in Kitsap. Thanks!

Nassel Wave forms off a fish hatchery on the nassel river. It only comes in maybe once or twice a season either when a huge storm like this comes in or after a long period of steady rain is really able to saturate the drainage. River doesn't have a lot of gradient and runs into willapa bay so really need a ton of water. Its eddy serviced and almost river wide from bank to bank with some big green shoulders and a couple pockets/foam piles that are sticky so you can throw big moves and not wash. I've yet to run it but have seen it in person and BIGWATER is always raving about it. I'm hoping to get some good photos of it here with this rain. There is a lot of good whitewater running into or near willapa bay out of the willapa hills, just very rain dependent and very few people actually make it out there with any regularity just because of distance. Gray and all the forks pretty sweet runs if you get on it to hit them, the nassel... etc.

Like Endo said, it's a hatchery wave much like the Mosh Pit. You need flows over 3k, at 3k I start to hit the bottom when cartwheeling in the pit. The highest I ever saw it was 9k and it was still good to go. The eddy on river left brings you right back into the wave. The Naselle hatchery is just upstream from town a mile or 2 off the highway. Today's rain got this saturated, gota keep an eye on it next 2 days
