So I've got this sweet little 3 day run that I just love to go do.
Problem is, it isn't clear where public/private land boundaries are and landowners are threatening to close access. Boaters are going in with blatant disrespect, trespassing, etc, which is worsening the sitch.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to diffuse this?

Here are my thoughts when dealing with sensitive situations.
1st and foremost is that sincerity is required and the communication of that sincerity is extremely important. Emails and Online communication is easily miscommunicated and also commonly misinterpreted or purposefully read wrong so further problems continue. Talking on the phone is the next best but again verbal conversations with a on off button can be avoided or ended at any time. Person to Person is where it is at. You can't go wrong there if your truly sincere and looking for beneficial areas on both sides.
If the person just does not want boaters on their land because they don't like boaters in general then you should take the approach of a sorry boater looking to earn back their respect. Offer to clean up and area if that was the problem, or offer to rebuild fence ect... If they don't like boaters because they never pay for anything you should offer to find a way to not just capture your own payment but also offer suggestions on how to capture a payment from other boaters (use your own methods and/or methods with PP to demonstrate your efforts to a land owners).
In the end usually most land issues are about respect and profit. er.. I mean profit then respect rather aeh!!!l
