Both the East Fork and West Fork of the Miller could be good Saturday. Both require a little hiking, though, not much. The West Fork is steep with massive granite boulders and sufficient eddies (considering how steep it is). The East Fork is more of a bedrock run with slides, waterfalls and some pretty cool rapids.

The slides and waterfalls must be on the upper EF?

Christian - the EF sounds like something I'd be in the mood for but there is nothing on it here or on the AW site.  Any more beta, comparable runs.  Will it be high, low, etc?

I've road scouted the EF. I remember one sweet 10 foot falls into a pool just above a nasty 40 footer and a couple cool looking gorges with some steep ledges and big boulders.

Thanks Joe, I got some beta from someone who has done it before.

Scott, Brett, Alex and I ran it yesterday. The water level seemed about right. Maybe a bit high for some stuff ("Drag Strip," the obvious one below the 20-footer, and "Let Me Down" the 30-foot double drop) and a bit low for other stuff (boulder gardens). I walked much more than I did when I went in there 10 years ago. Back then, we ran everything. The run is a lot of work. But the river is unbelievably beautiful and incredibly inspiring.
If you're up to an day-long adventure run with some paddling, I'd highly recommend it.
We hiked about a mile up the Dorothy Lake trail to the bridge and put in at the top of the slide. This section down to the trailhead was, by far, the steepest, richest and most arduous section. From the trailhead down to "Smoothie," the big slide (it's obvious) the run is a bit easier and requires much less scouting and portaging.
"Let Me Down" is in this second section, as are a quadruple ledge drop in a canyon, a double drop, a 10-foot Horseshoe ledge and, of course, Smoothie.

What a great experience, the EF Miller has some incredible rapids, massive slides, and stout drops.   I took some pics and video of our run Saturday, check out the gallery!!!

Thanks for adding the photos and the run description - was always curious what was up there. Looks like an incredible stretch of water for folks who are at that level.

Some video i took on EF Miller.   The first video is the put in slide, its much taller than you can see from the bottom.  The second video is Alex probing a really tough lead in to a 20 footer.  Brett has more epic footage that will be included in the video he is making, so this is just a teaser. Enjoy!

This is a video of the in between boulder mank class V on the EF Miller.   There was lots of this in between the portages and the goods.    Alex showing how to utilize the Cascade bouldermank handboof.

This video is the second drop of the run.   Notice the huge slide in the background that we had just run, so epic!
