Vimeo does not allow videos to be shared off the vimeo server. You have to use an embeded window/frame not a flash object so unike youtube we can't embed the flash here. We would have to allow embeded windows/frames which is a security issue that I don't want go down.

When you click on the embed link on a Vimeo video, on the popup window that appears there's an option to use their old embed code, which lets you embed the video using <object> instead of <iframe>.

I could get that embed code to work on there (html is disabled for security purpose) but the problem would be that only a handful of folks would understand how to do it. Even the youttube tool which is much easier is only used by a few people. Links are the easiest now a days, that and all these streaming content providers change the format of how they do things each year to force more ad compliance and traffic stuff.
