According to the post: The town of Shelton, Washington has pretty much built a playpark without knowing it. This section of river had a 35 foot dam on it, which wasn't serving any purpose other than blocking fish passage. so guess what, they installed 34 wiers. all about 1-2.5 feet in height. At around 500cfs, there are a bunch of great ledge/holes with eddy service. There are also significant wood hazards the entire way down, so be careful. i've found wier 31 (4th from the end) to be the best spot with the least wood hazards. At higher flows, the weir just upstream of the fire hut is great, and has proper eddy service.so check it out. let the town of Shelton know what you think. maybe we can get them to make a few adjustments to better suit whitewater paddlers, while still enhancing NW fisheries. Other background/info: In 2001 the Corps of Engineers with support from Simpson Timber, WDFW, and Squaxin Island Tribe, removed the 35 ft high Goldsborough Creek Dam, near the city of Shelton in southwestern part of Puget Sound. Removal of the dam opened 13-miles of high quality stream habitat. A total of 34 pool and weir structures, with secured large woody debris, were used to re-grade the stream over a 1/2 mile segment. For my part I got to work with the Squaxin Tribe and R2 Consultants to do the post dam-removal monitoring. Check out this video. Ten years later and look how much fun a human can have with a fish restoration project! Cool- yall know that as PPeeps of this zone YOU have the power to get its beta "on the map". Just use the tools. They are there. Poke around the rivers page n you'll figgr it out. And if all else fails just mercilessly bug James. That's what I do.

I'm glad that others had information too, because my contact JUST emailed me back. Here's what he said (hope it helps!): Hi Gwendolyn, The gage is in Shelton upstream of 7th Ave downtown, which is downstream of the weirs. American Whitewater has a weblink tracking flows in the Creek at http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Gauge2/detail/id/8852/ - http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Gauge2/detail/id/8852/ .
