I was up in the Teanaway valley for other reasons this weekend, but got a look at the NF Teanaway.  Its a fun little river that I have run the last couple years.  There is a good description of it on the river pages if you are piqued.  Its Class III+ though with some wood issues on the upper portion in years past.  Last year we put in on the lower part.

Where I scoped it (on the bridge below the cut bank in the river description) - it looked nicely padded out and I really wished I had brought my boat and a partner to run it with.

Its a nice add-on run if you are in transit to/from the Wenatchee via 97.  Or just car camp nearby and just make a day of it running laps with a nice fire afterwards.

I run the teanaway a couple times a year, but it is always from the bridge(one by the old dickey creek campground down) down to materson. I have always wanted to run the upper north fork but have not. Do you think it would be runnable in 10' catarafts?  I will be over there next weekend running at least the lower half and would love to float the upper, it just seems it might get a little small?

Thanks!

I wouldn't think so - its pretty tight in there. I'll see if I can upload a picture later. The stretch you can see below the cut bank is probably a good representation of the run.

This should be looking up from the bridge - its narrow at the upper part of what is maybe the most fun part of the rapids.  Its harder to scale without a boat in there, but thats maybe a couple boats wide.

Thanks for the pics, it looks like a no go in a cat for sure. To bad as it looks like a fun run.
