Thanks for the support everyone. Your texts and voicemails were encouraging. I didn't get spanked by the monkey and had two pretty good runs. Longboat 4:43 and Short 4:59. Not exactly sure where I placed. For those who are interested in results, here is a link for them whenever they get updated - http://boatingbeta.com/races .
Mike Dawson won the event in both short and long boat (and set new course records). Short time was 4:30 & Eric Deguil at 4:31. Long boat 4:10 and Dane Jackson 2nd not too far behind. (from memory)
Also, 3 Jackson Duo's made the decent. Issac and Pat won, with Dane and Geoff Calhoun 2nd and Vavra and Mike Dawson 3rd with a swim at Gorilla. I was hiking up to race my short boat when these guys came over Gorilla - it was pretty crazy to see.
I was watching levels in Washington my whole time out here, wondering why I had left for this race. We have some of the BEST WHITEWATER in the WORLD in WASHINGTON. I will be glad to be back. Who is down for Robe Thursday morning?
Darren

Here's the results. Congrats on a very-strong showing! Most of us would be stoked just to survive the descent!

Well, Darren, it is encouraging if not surprising to hear your sentiments regarding Whitewater Utopia (The PNW).

Congratulations on a good race though- its good that you rallied. Lots of talent all up in them hills back east, not to mention the "Big Names" that show for such an event.

As for Robe on Thurdays, my attendence is likely. I'll let you know before then.
