Graphs are predicting great flows for the upcoming weekend all across the state. Everything will likely have plenty of water 
This however is terrible for those with season passes as the snow level is predicted to be near 6000ft on Saturday, melting away an already low snowpack

Well then, I guess it's time to get my ass up off the couch. The slumber is over. I missed out on some stellar flows a few weeks ago and I'd hate to do that again.

Latest NWS forecast still calling for snow, high of 32 at the Stevens base on Sat.

Thanks Phil for the positive thoughts here... there's a good chance for rain at the pass but hoping it's not a washout. The rivers will be up for sure though and that's always a good thing.
Seems like every time I see the two thumbs up icon, I instinctively think it's a post up by Fish. And almost always is .... ------------- |

Unless the Green gets up, I'm probably planning on some early laps (the Seahawks game is at 1:30 p.m.), in the Sky drainage. Foss is awesome at the projected flows. But so is the Sky. And the Sky is a heckuva lot closer. Money Creek is also fun. So is the Lower Tye (if it's clean). It's gotta be clean by now. ------------- Catch your eddies, Christian |

jed, it's about 200' downstream from the get-in and is also visible from the get-in. keep on the right bank. not that big a deal, but there used to be a class iii+ must-make eddy that is likely still in play. you can also just walk down to below it if you want. get it! ------------- sitting all alone on a mountain by a river that has no end |

Not sure if my perceptions are correct, based on a scout a couple of years ago, I'd answer: -Multiple massive interlocking logs at or just above river level. Not a true "logjam" with everything from twigs to old-growth trunks piled up in a heap, but far from a single big log spanning the channel. -Portage would be possible but would be longish and bypass most of the good looking WW. -Mindbender. Potentially more. I put it in the "Not worth doing" category unless/until there's a mega-flood that cleans it out. ------------- -Jay |

I agree with Jay's points, I've looked at this stretch on numerous occasions but never think it'd be worth the effort vs reward. The mega-flood removing that wood pile would probably destroy local roads similar to 2006. Maybe it will clean out this weekend! ------------- |

| Mike's got it right. Right after the first log landed (several years ago) on the lower Tye it was an easy portage, but through the years more and more wood has piled up, pretty much obliterating the best rapid on the run. I would think the Foss might have snow issues on the road right now, too. |
