For all the crazy monkeys who haven't gotten enough agua blanca or sunshine here's an edit I did on Upper Jalacingo, the jewel of Mexico. As the name Upper Jalacingo implies, there is a lower section as well. The Jalacingo is but one tributary of the mighty Rio Alseseca. So many great sections of whitewater in Veracruz not to be missed!
Most runs in Veracruz are easier if you have a guide to tell you where the boofs and bad spots are, but the Upper Jalacingo is almost mandatory as many of the 5-7 standard portages are mandatory and not obvious from above. 3-4 hours is average if you know where you're going, but could easily take twice as long if you don't.
There are so many boofs, slides and waterfalls, it won't be hard to have a smile the whole way down. Veracruz is worth the time spent and if you like racing… the Alseseca had about 60 competitors and a whole lot more at the party Viva Mexico!
