Today here is my plan:

1. Be JonnyP-on-the-spot for first chair(ish). Hopefully Tye Mill is open early, head up there. If the whole mountain is open at 9 I may have to hack my way down Nasty Gash or C Slit. The main goal here being to shred as high up in the origins of the "Tippy Top Tye" as possible. Really only need a run or two.

2. Drive down to the bridge and look at the sapling. If the Top Tye isn't scary high, it probably isn't dissappointingly low. Run the Top Tye.

3. Do a high water Sky lap afterwards

Anyone free today who is interested? Gotta be up at the pass by 9am for the shred portion of tgis agenda, otherwise be on stand by for when I drop down off the hill to get to the Top Tye take out...

Who's down?

Well thats my plan. Im prepared to make it a solo endeavor, in which case phase 3 (high water sky lap) may get slashed from the agenda if I feel lazy later. On the other hand,by afternoon if interested partys triangulate w/ me, I may meet up with them at index or split.

Lots of snow/water today. It would be a shame to waste it

I don't know how I feel about this. The triple crow is reserved for Tye/Foss/Sky days...
You starting a revolution JP?

Yeah, I always referred to it as a "double down", which is truly one of the finest ways to spend a day, esp with bros. Today is not in the cards, but March is a great month for those epic "slay the slopes to paddle strokes". Love the way we can do it all here in the great PAC NW!

WELL, no comment.
But whatever the case, The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.
The Revolution, Will Be Live.

Look, it doesn't matter what you call it, and its a moot point today because they closed the pass while I was Slushboarding. Tye Food woulda been quite spicy today, flows still rising. Gonna try again tomorrow, if anyone is interested:

1. Ride snow on the frontside of Stevens
2. Top Tye
3. Sky

I have done the ski Alpental paddle the MM.

But each spring since I have tried to rally my own Alpental valley trifecta:

1. Get a few laps at Alpental - ideally lift-served for my lazy butt.
2. Do the traverse from Alpental and climb the Tooth.
3. Finish off with FITW laps.

right on Jp... I will be trying to get J man up there but that's all snow level dependant. Definitely boating this weekend but I'm out Thur/Fri due to J duty.

Scott, that sounds like quite a good trifecta. Timing runoff for that combo would be the tricky part, I think.

Looks like I missed out yesterday but am game for this sort of thing in the future.  I live in Index and am stoked to ride out this high water if anyone is game.

Sorry we missed ya, Anjin. There was some good boat'n out there today.

My Ski/Tye/Sky mission was a success.
The upper lifts at Stevens were closed due to Avy danger, ect. So I was relagated to the lower lifts of the frontside. Thats ok, because all that drains into Tye Creek, which satisfies my criteria for the day. So I made a run off of Hogsback, one on Skyline, and one on Big Chief. Ideally it would be better to drop in off of the top of Cowboy, Nasty Gash, and say, Pro Chute or similar. Next time.

By a little after 11 I was almost down to the bridge above Alpine Falls. I hedged my bets well by contacting two different Sams, because if anyone would most likely be available on a rainy Skykomish day like this, it would be one of those Sams.

To my good fortune, both Sams were there. Two Sams are better than one!

The Top Tye was in great shape with plenty of cushion for the push'n. About like it was when I ran it w/ Fish on Dec 2, probably a touch lower. About 3" of wet sapling. Medium fat, IMO, without being rowdy. The exciting news is that the entire pullout area at the Take Out is a fat bed of waist deep snow. We could possibly end up in great shape for spring runoff!

Justin joined us at OAC and the Sky was some good 'ol fashioned River Boat'n @ about 20,000 cfs. Quality River Boat'n.

I've been wanting this sort of day for awhile now. Sam, Sam and Justin, thanks for rallying!

BTW if anyone wants to rally Top Tye Tomorrow (fri), contact me tonight. I bet it'll be in again. I gotta be up on the pass by 2:30 tomorrow, though, so we're talkin 11am meet at the T.O.

Who wants to rally that?
