too bad, it was a bunch of fun the two years I went. :( I know it's gotta be a pain in the but to plan, but how hard is it to set up one of these? I mean if mythic James is shirking responsibility for it it must be mammoth. :) also, how many people (aside from me) are interested?
------------- why not!

mythic James ... Lovin that!
It was not hard to plan until we got kicked out of the Orchard. Our Balls got kicked off the first year when I just posted a simple meet up at a specific campground to have fun each night after we kayak. People came, we had fun, and that was it.
Our Balls grew as we added formal events, by popular request, which meant more requirements/complexities followed. Ramps, Comps, Kegs, Porta Potties, Liquor Licenses, Judges, Coordinating, ect.. it all went from something I did in a single post to something it really took 2 or 3 people a good amount of time along with the support of 5 + people to help set up and tear down.
People worked their Butts off to make sure our Balls were a blast. (Tobin, Amber, Adam, Dan, Brad, Gordon + more) One by one as they rightfully wanted to relax and enjoy our Balls instead of handle them, no one stepped in to fill the shoes.
So like always, want a Ball, Pick a Date, Make a Post and Let er RIP!
I am going to plan another Family Oriented Weekend since that is something which allows me time to see my friends and enjoy my family at the same time which are higher priorities than simply boating and partying. Hard to believe I just said that - right !!!
So for me this year the Cooper Family Fest, will be what my Ball is.
The important thing about all our Balls is that everyone should be invited to come!

everyone interested should post ideas here.
The meet boat camp drink & repeat idea sounds most plausible & if everyone covers there own & brings some to share should be easy and a blast.
Plus I've heard tell of this even & it might be one of the last I'll be able to share with my paddling partner before he ships out so lets make it happen! when its warmer of course...
------------- aint nobody got time for that!

I would point out that it is approaching Professor Paddle's 10yr aniversary, isn't it?
The first Ball occurred up Icicle Creek in 2006...
Seems like if any year was worth doing one, a 10yr aniversary event would be cool

My vote is for the apple orchard! If there's water then it's perfect in so many ways.
