Well, as we are reaching the end of the storm season this may be one of our last big rain events! The Naselle may be in on Thursday! Many rivers will be at healthy flows, but for a giant play hole there is no place like the Naselle! I will be checking flows early and heading out of Oly. If anyone still owns a playboat and wants to use it on an epic wave give me a call. Enjoy what could be one of our last big events of the season!!

Is it a wave or a hole? Are you gonna post a pic if this mysteriously epic feature? I have to work!

It's a large hole with 2 glassy shoulders. So it's a hole with 2 waves, the feature is river wide. Thursday was amazing, I left oly a lil after 7 and was at the wave at 9. It was dropping fast but after solo surfing for 3 hours I was done anyways.   I was not totally alone tho...when I dropped in for my first ride there was a rather large harbour seal that had made its way up the swollen river from the bay! The sight of the seal launching out of the foam pile and trying to clear the glassy ramp was unreal! I'm not sure if the seal was playing in the hole or actually trying to get upstream. After a min or 2 it spotted me surfing and it went downstream.
Sorry Brett I don't have pics. I wish I had a go pro for that seal! Anyways it's been an epic winter, wettest on record in many locations. The Naselle came in 11 times! Its normally has 3 or 4 days a year. I only got out to the wave 6 of the 11 times, still amazing. We have a few more weeks of rain but the Naselle most likely won't be in again untill next November....
