I am going to be at Mt. Hood for a wedding the weekend of 7/15-7/16 and want to hit the White Salmon on Sunday (7/17).  I put 1:00pm as a put-in time but I really don't care when we get on the river.  1:00pm make a early Sunday morning drive from Seattle possible.

Let me know if you guys are interested.  Its just me for right now.

I ran it twice over the 4th of July weekend for the first time.  It was a great run.  Consistant class III's and then Husum at the end which was cake at around 600 cfs.

I will be camping out Saturday night somewhere.  Sunday is completly open for me.  Are you planning on camping?  If so, we should all meet at one place.

Anyone know of good camping spots close to the BZ Corner put in?

I stayed about 30 mins away in a nice place but when we left skirts at the campsite it was a pain in the ass to drive back and get them...and of course drive again to the put in.

Hey there,

I would be interested in heading down and paddling both saturday and sunday, I think I have another friend that would be up for it too. I ran the river a bunch of times last summer and have been down there once this year.

There are a couple of places to stay down there, most common is the county park up in Trout Lake, pretty cheap and showers etc. There is also a hostel in Bingen called the old schoolhouse or something like that, I think its like $12 a night. You can also head out towards Mt. Adams and stay up on the forest service land up there.

Anyways, if any of you are interested in running it saturday too, let me know and we can work out a place to meet etc. Best way to get in touch with me is to call or email. 206-714-2868 as14@u.washington.edu

HEy,

Sorry for the multiple posts, but I wasn't sure if you all were aware that this weekend is the gorge games down there, so it maybe a little crowded. I am trying to get ahold of the troutlake campground and see what thier schedule looks like there. So I may try and go down sometime on friday and grab a spot, so let me know how many to expect :) Have a great rest of the week!

I didn't know it was the gorge games.  Good to know I guess.

Alicia, thanks for looking into campgrounds.  I will for sure be there Saturday night.  I may be coming in earlier but I'm not really sure...definitly not early enough for a run.  Can you post a place for eveyone to meet?

Also, as I said earlier I put 1:00pm for a put-in time.  I down for an earlier run and a second afternoon run.  Opinions of put-in times??

So, change of plans as of this morning.  I will be coming from Mt Hood Friday and will probably find a camping spot for the weekend.  So Saturday and Sunday runs are definitly in.

According to the list jondufay is going...anyone else?

I'd love to join you guys.  Several questions:

- Anyone want to carpool down and back?

- When are you guys actually running the river (what time, both days)?

- Is anyone staying in lodging (I am not equipped to camp at the moment)?

I am going to Mt. Hood Thursday-Friday and heading to the White Salmon Saturday whenever.  I'm thinking an afternoon run Saturday and a morning run Sunday with the potential of another run???

I'm camping b/c I'm friggin broke right now.  leifkirchoff, I have a 2 man tent and extra sleeping bags, etc for another person if you wanna shack up together .  I'll need to know by tomorrow evening so I know what to pack up.

Since this has turned into a more weekend trip and not just Sunday I'll propose a 1:00pm Saturday run and 10:00am Sunday run.  What does everyone think?

Hey Ryan,

So will you be staying at the Troutlake campground or somewhere else? It looks like I will be coming down Friday night with one other person, so if we can work out where you will be, we'll meet up. We are both up for a trip saturday and sunday morning. I will try and give you a call tonight to work out the details, is the number listed above the best way to reach you? If not, give me a call at 206-714-2868...

So, its been on my list of things to do to pick up some gear, so I am going to go ahead and do that today...no worries.

Let me know where to meet, and if anyone wants to share a ride.  I suppose I will head down friday afternoon.

Also, I have found lodging available, however, if camping is what everyone else is going to do, what campground will be used, and are reservations necessary.

I'm down for Trout Lake campgrounds but I can't find anything on it online.  Alicia, can you post some info as to where it is for everyone.  I don't know if I get reception on Mt. Hood so I will call you shortly to work out some details.

See you guys on the River!
