So, I may go boating this weekend, but anyone up for some snowboarding (or skiing) at Crystal?  I hear its opening this weekend.

Are you serious? That is early opening, do you have mud skis?

I would never dream of skipping work to boat!

King-TV reports 2-3 feet.

By the way, I should clarify a point to make this thread appropriate to the site.  When I said ski or snowboard earlier, I left out kayak.  As many of you know, there are a few crazy folk out there who have kayaked down the mountain.  My only problem with this activity is I can't figure out how you would stop.

Hi Leif,

I'm staying out here the next two weekends for paddling...but I might be interested in skiing one day this weekend.  What day were you thinking?

I am a little dissappointed in you Leif.

I mean Skiing and Snowboarding when the rivers are like this...

Shame... Shame on you.

I'd love to go paddling on Saturday...best of both worlds!

Anyone have Saturday plans?  Middle-Middle?

Besides, like I said, it's possible to kayak on 'frozen' rivers provided one is crazy enough and/or has smoked enough joints.

Your possessions should set you free like a boat or a pair of hiking boots. If you work for your possessions and they don't set you free, what are you working for?

Lief, I know you don't smoke so I'll assume your crazy if you give snow kayaking a try.

Leif,

I'll be at crystal on sunday. Perhaps I'll see you there.

I wasn't saying I would, I was meerly inviting someone to give it a try.  Nothing like a live version of that well known tv show coupled with a fun day of snowboarding.

Actually, I had to mention it to make James (AKA I only play on liquid water) happy, what with the mention of kayaking and all.

Perhaps so.  My cell is 206-618-6253 and it should work up there.  I definitely will be there...

Hey now.... Hey now...

I have a dirt bike now, so I am not just a liquid lover. However my passion for paddling of course greatly overwhelms that of dirt biking.

Lief I know you are just dieing to get me up on the mountain so you can see me fall and bust my behind, not going to happen. Not at whistler not at crystal not at baker, well maybe at baker if the pow is good. But the point is that I claim the board no longer. In fact I was thinking of selling my boarding gear so I could get another boat :)

Anyone out there wear a size 15 and want my old gear ? :)

You know I am just giving you a hard time

Seriously, though (and this offer goes for anyone), come up to Whistler with me sometime.  After a long day of non-behind-busting powerder boarding, I can show you the finest eating establishments in the town...Always the highlight of a trip.

By the way, just so everyone knows (I already booked a number of days at Whistler), for Washington residents, by simply buying an Edge card, you can book good lodging at Whistler for only $99 CDN per night before Noveber 18th.

Leif, I can't wait to spend a day scaring the s&%! out of you on the mountain.  Let's all pray for snow, it is good for the skiirs, boarders, paddlers, and all of the other people in the world who know how to have fun.

James... sell your board?  Come on, you know you want to do the Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom with me this year.  You know it will be a huckfest!  POWDER!

I wish I was in my boat or on my board right now

18th, 19th, 20th of which month? November? I am meeting some friends in SLC over Thanksgiving, so I probably won't head up to Whistler until December.

Yes, November with my girlfriend and her sister and husband. It's the only time were going this year and there is going to be some serious drinking during and after skiing, and only us two guys ski, so the women will probably shop while we hit the slopes!
