I'm planning on heading down to the White Salmon (along with everybody else it sounds like - should be fun!!!) and am looking for a good spot to camp.  Last year, it was really late by the time we finished our day and we ended up just crashing on the side of the road.  I'd like to find something a little nicer this year.  So if anyone knows any nice spots in the area, please share.  Thanks.

Dave,  Check out Trout Lake, there is a great campground just past the store. It has hot showers and is pretty cheap ( $5 a head )
If you need directions let me know.

There have been some people camping down at Northwestern Lake lately....  You'd probably be fine with a smallish group.  We had a huge party down there till 2 or 3am and no one bothered us...  The sign says it closes at 10pm, but there isn't a gate or anything..

Also of note, the older gentleman who is the BZ Corner Put-in host passed away on Sunday evening.  If you were familiar with him, or will be passing by, please be respectful of his wife and their RV site.  I'm not sure what the arrangements are, but guides and companies were visiting today with wishes and flowers.  He was a kind and familiar face, and will be missed at the put-in.

jonathan... thanks for the note... that guy was really nice, glad to hear that there's support for his wife... been a damn hard couple years down there... live it up, 'cause we're all gona go sometime!

tobins on it... trout lake gets my vote as well... nothin like sittin on the doorstep of adams and wakin to the sunrise! the showers are great too!! you can also drive tword adams and find spots in the nat'l forest, but why waste the gas?? if you party in the hood and don't want to drive accross the bridge, you can also park where the hood comes into the columbia... been doin it for a few years now and haven't been hassled... then again there is also a walmart in hood river if your into RVin it....

There is supposed to be caming up the road that goes by Northwestern lake (according to D1) if you just keep heading up until it turns to dirt.  I wouldn't mind checking it out one of these days, as I'd like to stay away from campsites with TV glow...
