All right guys, I'm feeling ballsy. It's Boulder Drop this weekend, or I won't forgive myself.

Who would be up for it on Friday. Morning, afternoon, evening, whatever. Weide? I don't think you have to work....

The disco helmet might make an appearance, for good luck....

I could do Friday morning. Jason is hounding me to paddle. I'll pop my Boulder cherry too. Maybe we should have some real kayakers around to catch our gear?

Let me know when you decide to go.  Maybe I'll take the day off and join you, I have not ran the Sky in far too long.

Giddyup, I think I'm in.  Probably could be up for trying BD as well - I've never even scouted it as I've been waiting since mid-March for levels to finally come back down to even consider running it.

Is anybody in that actually knows the line?? I might be in with my 14 yr olds. We just spent 9 days on the Rogue and my boy is WAY over my head now. Can anyone compare the BD line with Blossom Bar?

I know the line. I've never run it, and I wouldn't recommend anyone follow me completely, but I'm not going to be following anyone, I don't believe. My dad should be meeting up with me, and whoever else for a second lap at one- ish. He's run BD more times than I can even remember.

I will most likely be there. I know the line well and would be glad to show your son down. Although I have not done blossom bar, I get the impression from other people I have talked to that BD will be more difficult. Scout it first and then you will know for sure!

Camrun,
I haven't run Boulder Drop but, perhaps will for the first time on Friday.

I ran Blossom Bar during our Rogue River trip last year - which was on our 8th day ever in a kayak.  IMHO, Blossom is an easy class 2 move (albeit with serious consequences for missing).  I get the impression (from watching many others run it) that BD will be significantly harder.

Guess I'll know for sure on Friday.

How was it KTW?

People make their lines? Any first timers through Neds or the Needle?

Great Job everyone... that is such a fantastic rapid in every aspect.

It was good. One swim but it was minor, at the very bottom. So yeah, pretty much all good lines. No one on the needle, everyone took airplane.

A few people went for a second run so hopefully the good lines continued =).

Also, for those of you who were on the trip, I did end up finding my wallet.

BD is awesome! We all ran airplane. It was styled by all. Thanks Dave and Tom for the line and confidence building pep talk.

AKJSDHAKJSHDKJASHDKJHASDK.

No swims. We all hit Airplane, both times down. It was an absolute blast. I hit the line better the first time, only flipped once in a hole below the fence. Second time I flipped right next to Chris' Crack. And futher down. Had a bit of a bumpy ride that time.

Someone else should describe what my second one looked like. I don't actually know what I got hung up on the second time I flipped, and I spent too much time upside down to remember where I was.

IT WAS A BLAST.

Thanks David, we're all stoked to do it again.

I'll post second run pictures in a minute. =)

edit: I guess we had one swim. I didn't even see it...

Yeah, that was fun today.  Ashley had some solid combat rolls on the 2nd run.  As she started through airplane turn, there were three of us yelling, "Paddle, paddle, paddle!!!"  Her line was too low but her grace under pressure was very impressive.  I think she rolled three times in about 15 seconds!  All perfectly executed.

I didn't see the swimmer either.  So the rest of you will have to guess

Thanks David and Tom for guiding and Jon and Andy for support

Staying upright is always a good thing though... I've been told that I need to work on paddling harder.

Thanks for the compliments, Arn!

Darn!  I wish I could have been there too to see the first runs.  All this time I waited and you go with someone else.  I'll most likely be out there tomorrow if the MM doesn't sky rocket.  Is anyone up for joining me?

Good job!!  Adam made his first run through on Saturday morning, and did another lap through in a playboat.  He got a little close to the CRACK also!!  Just say NO to CRACK!  That thing is nasty.
Good job to everyone!!  Thats a big feather in the ol' cap!
Peace
