... to the paddling community.  My wife Amber (a lot of you may remember her waddling around the PP Ball back in May) and I had our first baby Saturday night, a little girl we named Katelyn Ann.  8 lbs, 6 oz and 19.5" long

Mom and baby are both doing fine and should come home from the hospital tomorrow.

So in a few years, hopefully I'll be looking for a Fun 1

Cheers - Dave

Congratulations!  Welcome Katelyn Ann to the world - what and exciting time for you two.  It may be more than a few years for the fun1, but there's no harm in being hopefully optimistic!

Dave,

Congrats!!!!  I am so happy for you, and her (mostly hopeful she got her moms looks)
Seriously, have a wonderful experience, sleep when you can, and bask in the joy every other moment!
Take care of yourself and yours! Cheers!

Congratulations Dave, I have had the blessing of spending time with a good number of my friends that have had children in the last year and I am excited for you. What an amazing stage of life to enter and to become responsible for. The rewards are unmeasurable and I have watched first hand as my friends have been enriched by their children and also returned this amazing exchange of love. I don't think there is anything like it in this world or life and it is certainly an event that is under valued by our culture.

Thanks for sharing the news with us Dave. Take care and I hope to see your new family on the river when she's ready for her first weekend in the woods!

James
