It's the river we all love to hate.  The river we swear we will never go back to, but always do anyway.

I am leaving Friday afternoon, and plan to spend the weekend.  I have room for up to two more boaters in my truck (play boats only...).

I'll be up there on Sunday, the 16th.  Can't go saturday, though, since we've got a show that's pretty much taking up my whole day.

Darn it. I hate when she stays logged in on my laptop. Anyway - we'll be there with Tobin. I don't know if we're heading over Friday or Saturday morning.  - Adam

Never been and need to check it off the list.  I'm a maybe.  I need to have a lease signed by the weekend before I can commit.

Anyone have a house for rent in Seattle??

Nope but I am only a month or so away from renting a few of our rooms out!

For those who want to rock saturday night, I'm playing a relatively high profile show in the Tri-Cities (less than 2 hours from the Tieton) Saturday night. We start playing at 7. Outside of that, enjoy the toga party and I'll see you hungover bastards on sunday.

I'd like to tag along for one of the runs however I'll only be able to make it for one day.  Do you know what time you'll be planning to put on each day?

Thanks,
Ethan

I was going to make a joke about "high profile" and "Tri cities", but elected not to, as I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

That said, see you all out there.  I'll be leaving the seattle metro on Friday in the early afternoon, so if anyone wants a ride...  I've got one passenger - should have room for two more.

I'm thinking about heading over friday late morning...  Where is everyone thinking about camping?  WRRR has a group site that James and I stayed in last weekend, but i'm sure it  will be very crowded this weekend.

Haha, well, by "high profile" I mean an arena show with an expected attendance of over 1000 people (we're playing first, so we'll be lucky to have 250 there for our set, but that's not the point), radio and tv commercials, and other such exposure.

There's over 1000 people in the tri cities?

I'm staying at Milepost 171.  There is usually plenty of room there if anyone wants to join.  One thing for sure is that its way less dusty there!!  Its a nice place to put-in too bout 1 mile above the dam....

I want to remind everyone to bring warm clothes!  I forgot how damn cold it gets at night and in the mornings over there.  We were so cold on Sat morning we thought about not doing an early run and waiting for the afternoon!!  With the fire ban its even tougher to stay warm at night...
Love,
Horner

Funny...

Just good natured humor...

Seriously though, that sounds like a pretty major event.  Congratulations and good luck.  I'd come, but I don't think I'd fit in that well at that sort of event.

I'm pretty sure I'm in.  Probably head over friday afternoon.  May or may not have a new boat to try out as well.  Hope the duct tape holds!  Not sure if I'm leaving strait from Renton or heading back through Duvall.  I'll probably have room for one other person if you need a ride.  What's the dilly with the Toga party?  I'm assuming a sheet and lots of booze??!!

The toga party is a yearly tradition at the Tieton.  Wear a toga and party on!  The biggest campfire I have ever seen was burning at my first toga party years ago.  They dropped an old growth stump on it that was about as big as the raft trailer they brought it in on.  You couldn't even get 15 feet away from the thing without burning your hair!!  From what I hear the burn ban won't affect the fire for the toga party.  It has been at the same spot for the last few years, near the take-out.  Look for the sign on your way down the river on Sat.  music starts at 8....

uh ... I think we had a fire this year that had a good 15 foot radius too!

All this fire talk is getting me really bummed out.. last few weekends have been relativly fireless.

Hey, Bushwaker here, I made it to the Professor Paddle Ball a few months ago and had a great time.  I'm newer to kayaking but have been a whitewater rafting guide for 4+ years.  Looking to hang with a few NEW PEOPLE WHO DON'T MIND GIVING ME  A GENTILE PUSH IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.  I just got a new Toyota 4Runner and don't mind giving someone a ride.  In a perfect world I would like to tag along with a group who could show me the ropes about the TIETON. Don't worry I can carry my own weight..

Respectfully,
Bushwacker

Always a pleasure to paddle with yahoos..My cell is 602-332-3733,  I will be leaving from work at 5pm on Friday and be looking  forward to a cold beer while I set up my car camp whenever  I get there.  Is the camp easy to find near the mile marker?

Its pretty easy to find.  When you see the milepost look on your left for a turn-off.  You'll probably see ARC's big old white tent and maybe their bus.  ARC is a very small company with only 1 or 2 guides so its not out of hand.  If you continue downstream (left) we'll be camped back in there.  look for a big red dodge truck.  If you were to go upstream you'll probably find some RV's parked.... My number is 206.696.1195.  not sure i will have reception there though...we are leaving friday around 1PM...
