KAVU and Seattle Raft and Kayak invite you to an evening of celebration, refreshments, giveaways, and adventure! It's "The Oil & Water Project", a documentary of Seth Warren and Tyler Bradt's vegetable-oil-powered trip from Alaska to Chile.

Filmmaker Seth Warren will join us in person to talk about his adventure and his passion -- reducing our dependence on petroleum.

KAVU tee shirts, and copies of the movie, will be available along with more schwag from KAVU and SRK, while it lasts, so get there early! Festivities start at 7pm.

The movie, the refreshments, and the schwag are FREE... but we're asking for a $5 suggested donation to SRK's "your green will go green" fund -- details at the event.

This is the first Northwest showing of the final cut of the award-winning film. The documentary follows the pair's travels along 16,000 miles of the Pan American Highway, fueling their trip on vegetable oil.

The film has won numerous awards at festivals around the country, including:
-Best Environmental Film, Taos Mountain Film Festival
-Daniel Delavergne Spirit Award, Ashville Film Festival
-Best Picture, Jules Verne Adventure Film Festival
-Special Jury Award, Kendal Mountain Film Festival, U.K.
-Peoples Choice, Patagonia Wild & Scenic Film Festival
-Best Documentary, Reel Paddling Film Festival

So our girl Stephanie from KAVU has spoken about a keg of free refreshments and a big bag full of free copies of the movie. Sounds pretty cool, hope to see a good crowd out for this one.

Just got back from the Oil & Water show at SRK.  Mad props to Seth and Tyler (and thanks to SRK for hosting!) !  Quite an amazing adventure and a great way to spread the word about helping move towards saving the environment!  A little dissapointed there wasn't more boating footage, but the whole biodiesel element made it quite interesting.  If only I could find a diesel Toyota to convert!  Check out their video, well worth the time spent!
