Hey all,
Just wanted to pass this along....

Hi Jon,

Werner Paddles has halted production of the Werner Rio 4 pc paddle. In field conditions where the paddle is exposed to extreme heat and humidity it may swell, causing an imperfect fit between the blades and the shaft. Although such incidents are extremely rare, the Rio 4 pc is intended to be used as a back-up paddle which functions perfectly every time.

We are currently rounding up all 4 pc Rio paddles, and replacing them with premium 4 pc Sherpa blades. This is an upgraded blade from what you currently have, and the replacement process will be at no cost to you (we are even covering the shipping both ways).

Please call our Customer Service team at 1-800-275-3311 to obtain a Return Authorization Number and special shipping instructions, and we will get you back on the water as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause you.

Happy Paddling,

Liz Demer
