I would like to take a recue class (seeing as the last time I took one I wasnt old enough to drive to it). Anyone have any suggestions for the Seattle area?

I think Chris is still doing them through Wave Trek?
She does a great class.

Took one from Chris last month - good class.  Kayak specific.

Took one a few years ago that Brett (Waterwacko) was an instructor at - also very knowledgeable.

Which course did you take Liz? The http://www.wavetrekrescue.com/node/61 - Whitewater Rescue Technician WRT  class?

I took the Swiftwater Rescue Technician - 1 class twice (expires every 3 years) because that's what was available where I was at, when I was there.

As I understand it, the WRT is a new class with the same material as SRT1 geared slightly more towards river guides and private boaters (Chris may have made this class up herself, but that's ok because she has been heavily involved in designing all the Rescue 3 Swiftwater classes).

SRT1 is an official qualification that lots of firefighters and other rescue personel have to take/pass.  Liz + 8 firefighters = good weekend
