Friends of friends asked about who is good for rafting companies covering the September releases on the Tieton.  Blue Sky was mentioned by them.  I am pretty clueless on companies.

Thanks in adavance.

blue sky is a good company, but there takeout is a few miles below everyone else with almost no rapids (one II+ if I recall) in that stretch.  it made for a really long day with them when i took my office a couple years back.

wet planet also runs there, very good guides, always enjoy my trips with them.

Cool thing about River Riders is the Put-in, where you get a taste of some really fast action in "Chaos" (alley) or (cascade) or (Chaos reigns supreme).  The rapid really swift, and usually brings screams of joy.

I like Action Rafting Company for the Tieton.  It is a small operation run by DJ Touttle.  I guide for him if he needs me down there on the Tieton.  DJ has been a guide for a long long time and was one of my trainers back in '01.  He's got Jeff Weiss as a guide!  He does trips on the Tieton, Wenatchee, and Methow.

Its always a fun time with his group.

Oh yeah, and Riders has some sweet guides. I recommend Alexis, if you can get her.

But I'm really waiting for washington's newest rubber pusher to chime in. I know he's lurking somewhere down south.

I just took my friends 8 yo down the Skagit for the first time, as we went thru the S bends he yelled "I want to do this everyday,  I'd do this for a dollar".  I think he'll be a good guide.

Chiming in at your request!

Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be raft guides! 8 years old! Why, he's just a babe!
Trust me, I've been hanging out around raft companies since I was about 10, and my life has irrevocably been altered!

To quote a successfull industrialist who manufactures rafts for large scale industry (something to this effect): " Raft guiding runed my work ethic"
--Refried! heed my warnings and tell your friend! we have to do an intervention before his boy starts chugging Rainier and chasing hairy women!

Seriously though-- most raft guides and companies are all the same basicly. Fun, yet dysfunctional. I do know Alexis though, and she's the sh*t. But then so is Dylan! Tom and Kira work for Blue Sky, but they won't be around. They went off on some adventures elsewhere. Of course my bias at the moment is for ALL ADVENTURES RAFTING. Really what you should do is book a trip with them and request me!

Dylan-- we gotta stop passing like ships in the night, dude! I will be there, hopefully this fall. maybe see you then.

Yeah-there's only one trip for sure that I'm on, and even then who knows till I'm actually on the water? But it's the same weeekend as the party. THAT'S what's important! So It's looking good that I'll be around to check this river off the list at the very least.
