Topic: Weekend Kayaking Posted: 13 Jan 2011 at 8:22pm |
Looks like everything is pumping! I am too out of shape to hit the Green Gorge at anything above 2800, but if it is too high, the MM looks to be running all weekend at good flows. Plus for us out of shape and less experienced people, we can always run the South Fork of the Snoqualmi if the MM is too high.

12k on the MM is 'sporty' but big and fun.
Just don't miss the take out and be ready to grab tree branches.
A group of us are doing the Nisqually on Saturday. It is a new found treat at 6k +, like a poor mans Wenatchee.
Meeting @ the hydro plant @ 11.

Right now I would say that over 5,500cfs is my limit for the MM. I need to get out and paddle more before I tackle any big water. Getting out of shape working and driving and sitting around to much.

I got to tell you, right now watching everyone else out there having fun every day and having to get up early to go to work is making me want to take a few years off and collect some funenployment too. I could use a few years off...

Meeting there at 11. It's on 510 and Powerhouse rd, roughly mile 12.5 just past the casino.

Nisqually at 6K! I want to go!! I'll see if I can swing it. Otherwise, I'm up to paddle wherever on Sunday and Monday (MLK Holiday).

The South Fork of the Snoqualmi is running at a fun level, I may solo boat that if no one is going. I just need to get some time with my new paddle and after driving over 1000 miles for work this week, dont feel like driving all the way down to the Nisqually.

How about I sleep in till around 9am then think about where to go...I am hoping the MM comes down a bit. If we can muster a group together, the MM is fun at 6k.

Aw!! Come on Dave! Carpool with Jessie to the Nisqually :-) With an 11am meeting time, you can still sleep in until 9am, pack your boat and be on the road by 9:45/10:00am
Jessie- you're coming, right?
