Topic: Saturday Sky Run Posted: 22 Mar 2005 at 9:29pm |
I figured we could head out again to the only river that has any water
around. The beginning of this week gave us all a little tease. Dang
Weather. Anyways same ol same ol.
I think this ought to be a Ben Howard Combo Day too! Hope to see you out there.

Dylan,
I would recommend taking a look at the Ben Howard Waves Details Page.
It has alot more details and pictures than I could possibly put in this post.
If you have questions or anything else you can always give me a call... My number is in the trip details above!

Can you by any chance make it 11:30? Please, please, please!!! I'm going to my son's first Easter Egg hunt at 10am Saturday and I'd be pushing it. If not maybe I could meet you all at the put in at 11:30. I'd really love to join you.

Thanks for putting this together James (trip, site, sweet tunes at the takeout)....thanks also for the pictures of the last trip. I am the guy in the powerline picture - proof to my wife that my only mistress is a big orange pyranha.

I'd like to drive over and join you for the trip, I'll be coming from Yakima so I'll be real close on the 11:30 meeting time. It's been awhile since I've paddled the Sky and I'm not sure where the split rock meeting spot is. So if you'd be so kind. I'll be crossing Snoqualmie then up to Monroe then towards Index.
Thanks Larry

Split Rock is one take out, but because we have so many people I think
that we will all need to meet at railroad bridge, which is the same
place as last week.
To get there you would take US HWY 2 east bound. After you pass Gold
Bar, but before you reach Index you will come to a stretch of HWY 2
that has 2 lanes going east bound. This goes for about 2 Miles. Just
after your first bend in the road around mile marker 32 somewhere you
will see a little gravel pull off on the westbound side of the HWY. It
is next to a bunch of Concrete Cynderblocks. This is known as Railroad
Take Out. Feel free to call me as you get close if you need on the fly
directions.... Look forward to boating with you Larry!

I got a reply on how to find the split rock take out from Courtney but now I see that you changed the meeting place to the Rail road bridge take out. Guess I'll just look for cars with kayaks on top! I'll see you all there tomorrow

Hey, I hope you all had a great trip. Sorry I missed it. I was almost to Snoqualmie Pass and the snow was coming done hard. My tires were slipping on the road, then the car in front of me started doing donuts down the highway. As I approached the next off ramp there was another car crashed there. I decided to turn back at that point. Besides someone has stolen my best paddle and I would have had to use my old wooden Mitchell paddle.
Maybe in two weeks I can try again, if there's any water still.
