It sounds like the road is closed upstream of Altair Campground.

Current access

The run down is pretty interesting class 2-2+ with occasional wood depending on the year. Scenery and wildlife are great - I've seen lots of harlequin ducks on this stretch, which are beautiful birds.

There's a nice rapid upstream from Altair that drops you into flat water in a pretty little 100yard long canyon, but I don't think you can access it now until the road opens back up.
