Thanks for the invites. Ended up paddling the Top Tye today. Next time I will show up earlier and stick around later to get some more boating in. 4.5hrs of driving through bad traffic for 15 minutes of boating (high quality though it may be) was not really worth it. Next time I will aim for at least three laps on the Tye and a couple on the Sky... and to return in the evening after rush hour is mostly over. Too bad Log Choked Falls is not cleaner, because it looks like a fun drop.

I here ya...traffic up north is ridiculous. Where you live Eli? We ran 3 laps on Matheny yesterday and we were back in Oly by 7....Zero trafic.
If you live south of Seattle, boat south .....is a much better whitewater to traffic ratio.

The tye is a run better suited to a couple laps and then hitting the Sky on the way home. Better luck next time.

We live in the Central District of Seattle, so there is often traffic in all directions. I usually don't care because we live in the city and everything is close enough to walk/bike/bus to wherever we go. Unfortunately I have not figured out how to get the bus driver to let me take my creek boat on the bus, and I don't think there is a route that will take you that far anyway. Too bad it's not like in some countries I have been to, where you just drag whatever cargo you want into the passenger compartment with you... but we also don't end up with a chickens standing in our laps, or with a goat trying to eat your clothes too often either, so I guess you take the good with the bad.
In retrospect, my real problem was trying to get back before the traffic got bad... which is apparently an imaginary time reserved for imagination land, because unless it's 4am, there is no such thing as "before the traffic gets bad." Unless there is a game (in which case all bets are off), the best plan is to paddle more and get back after rush hour has calmed down around 7 or 8pm.
